I need suggestions on modifications to my 1.0, any help?

I've recently bought a Nissan Micra K11 1.0 S as a little project car. I have just started doing my Motorsport course at college and would like some suggestions on what to do first with my Micra, any suggestions would be a great help.

if you can get ahold of some put 1.3 cams in to it give it a bit more grunt
