How would you remove power steering?

Hello!

Am looking to remove the power steering from my rally micra k11 2003 (j1000) because i feel this would improve engine revs and you can tell when you move the steering from one side to another it dose (tiny) we revs, so this would be taking away max power. Is their any special way in doing it or is it as easy as i think it is?

Simply swap into a nonPAS rack. But check the columns spline dia matches cos my 98 PAS had a bigger spline than the 94 nonPAS.

with no engine out you may need to remove one suspension leg out the way to remove p.steer

i have the engine out at the moment and I need another steering rack, because if am right saying there was a older micra that came with no power steering a 95 to 98 one?

Earlier micras, the k11 started in 92, had no PAS.
I keep the pas as do most rally people, makes it easier to drive the lower speed corners - obviously this is down to personal preference
