How to remove this rubber part of clutch cable from the mounting bracket?

Hello, I can't get this rubber part in the pic off the mounting bracket. Am I supposed to move the white plastic parts? I've tried pushing it through as hard as I can and it won't fit through the little gap in the bracket. I'm worried I'm going to break it! Cheers

So according to Haynes it's supposed to look like this:



I can see how that comes off because one side is narrower so it can be pushed through the bracket opening. But mine looks different, it's the same size on both sides

Haynes manuals are usually compiled from an early release of a vehicle so when the product changes a year later for revised parts the pictures no longer match what is on your driveway.

That looks like it will slide through the gap in the bracket with a firm wiggle, just pull it towards the gap in the bracket and twist it back and forth as you pull it.

Are you replacing the cable ?
