Hi Everyone.
Here is the story. My little K11 was running pretty well until I decided to clean the throttle body and change the spark plugs. I sprayed carby cleaner into the throttle body to make sure it would not do damage.
After doing this the car proceeded to have a high idle (1100 rpm - 1900rpm) but seemed to run ok under throttle.
I read the forums and proceeded to resolder the AFM according to the guide and also cleaned the Idle Control Valve. This did not help but seemed to make it worse as it hunted for idle and rev'd higher.
I adjusted the idle control valve to make it more central within its adjustment as it was set to one side. This lowered the idle but still around the 1100rpm.
I also adjusted the idle screw near the TPS but this did little.
I have ordered a new throttle body with sensors in the hope that this will fix the fault.
In the meantime. Does anyone have any suggestions??
P.S. Can a smaller spark plug gap cause issues like this??
