hi i need help with my 1L 2001 micra s

hi can any 1 help me my 2001 micra s 1L is playing up the engine management keeps comming on and off when am driving. when i put my foot down the car judders then kicks in and goes it does that nearly all the time when i go down the gears and try and pull off i was going to change the spark plugs and coil pack but will wait and c if any 1 tells me differance thanks darren
