Help with k11 shock absorber question

Hi I'm new here! I have a k11 which pulls left when driving I've been told the front passenger shocker is broken and has leaked oil, I bought a replacement from a scrap yard and the garage said that it is for the wrong side? (I didn't remove from scrap car) are the k11 shock absorbers left and right side specific? It's a 02 plate car 1.0 16v

the brakehose bracket is sided, so they are correct really
