Help wanted: Engine stops

I don't know the history of the engine as I bought the 95 LX as a write-off. The engine will start and runs at only idle speed for about 20 seconds before choking. I suspect something is amiss with the ECU but have no experience in troubleshooting this.

Any hints on where I should start would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Do a search of the forums for "throttle body" issues.

Also check the technical articles section and see the throttle body re-soldering guide. This is one common problem on micras once they have done a few kms.

Like Cisco says it is more then likely that it is your air flow meter or even your crank angle sensor. If you can get your hands on a diagnostic tool it might tell you the error code and pin point the problem.
