help repacing rear drum shoes!!

hey,

so how the feck (word edited re other postings) do i get the upper return spring back onto the new leading shoe???

any tips as to angles of approach or tool used??

One spring has to be on before the other, im sure you worked that out..

needle nose pliers, and patience =)
Must admit, the first time i rebuilt the drums (new cylinders/shoes etc), the springs easily took the longest to reinstate.

Someone else probably has a better method tho.

i always use a good needle noise vise grips, it always works for me on any drum set up...

the 4 that i've done i hated every minute of it, is worth buying some pliers that you can get a good grip on, doesn't necessarily make it it easy, but its less likey to explode into your face

Drums brakes suck.... Stupid springs.

I was sooo happy when I checked the shoes/cylinders were ok on my second micra.

Agreed on both counts. Thankfully it doesn't need to be replaced often.
