help please.Number plate bulb problems

MOT failed due to rear number plate bulbs not coming on, i've changed the bulbs and checke main panel of fuses but still no joy-any advce out here would be much appreciated. Thanks

Do you know how long ago it stopped working? Sounds silly, but you may have had it like that for a while, and if so it could be a bigger problem. Have you tried wiggling the bulb when the lights are on? Could be a dodgy connection. Otherwise, get a volt meter out and see if it's getting any power at all.

Thanks EMS, have tried wiggling bulbs, no joy. Will try meter tomorrow, don't like the sound of bigger problems-s'pose that means loom trouble? Do the lamp fittings ground thru the mounting screws< fittings bit rusty

if needs be then just wire the bulb holders to the tail lights +ve and earth them to the car body.

Check the earth, its probably damaged. This was recently posted and that's what the problem was.
