Help needed. K12C power steering

Well niether mine (2005) nor my mums (2003) have had any problems with their power steering, certainly not in the 4 years we've owned them.
I'd like to think that Nissan would have rectified whatever was causing any power steering issues for the unlucky early k12 owners?
Edit: we did both have a recall notice for the steering wheel fixing bolt, and mine for the ECU thing (still not 100% sure what that one was about
)
Look for details in history, do an mot check on direct.gov, might help you decide if it's failed past mots on dodgy stuff ^_^ (you'll need the registration number and either mot test number or reference number from the v5c) if you're buying from a dealer/trader ask to see the hpi check (most wil do a check as it becomes a selling point for them, makes it look like they care)
