My daughter recently wrote off her K12 micra so...it came home for me to fix it.
While I was waiting for some panels t be sprayed I thought I would make a couple of small upgrades to the interior.
The car is a 2009 25 Anniversary model with the 2 DIN CD Stereo. There were two things I wanted to fix 1: the steering wheel was horrible as the plastic coating had perished 2: The stereo did not support BT streaming for music and using the ipod dock with a modern iphone is a faff and takes several adapters and cables which menat it often drops connection
1 was easily solved by swapping for a decent leather wheel from a sport model that I got on ebay
2 I sourced an OEM Connect1 satnav from a Juke for £40 along with a GPS antenna and assumed it would be plug and play. However there were two plugs that did not go in to the new stereo. I assume one was for the ipod dock (which is fine as I am happy to lose it and do not need a 3.5mm jack equivalent) but the other I think must have included the external phone mic. This means that no one can hear you on a call. Everything else seems to work perfectly including the steering wheel controls
has anyone who has done the same upgrade got a solution - either getting a plug and putting the correct cables in or...well a new mic I guess
