Heater Problems

Being looking around on here for solutions to several of my little niggles...
But can see that a heater problem can be several things, the funny card thing being rusty or cables that have moved ect...
So I wondered if anyone can shed any light on my particular problem...

V reg 99' plate micra with 32k on clock, all fan speeds working fine however...
air circulating in/out of car the slider won't budge!
no heat, just cool air - the temp control clicks 1cm-ish away from both exstremes!

Anyone had same or know a cure???

i have same year car 1999 micra put heater blower on and the engine stops !!!!!!! will only restart if you remove key and wait for nats red light to come on flashing sorry if i should not add to this query but cannot work out how to start a new thread
