Heater blower works on one setting???

Hi i was wondering. I have finished working on a my wifes super s and its all good but the blower only works on teh highest setting. I know this is a common fault but my question is when i removed the box thing blower resistor bit under the dash the switch was still working on the top setting?

I thought the blower should stop working altogether if i removed the resistor bit???

The other lower settings connect through the card, whereas the full speed setting bypasses the resistor card. When the cards fail they go open circuit, so it only works on full.

Reminds me, I should replace mine, getting fedup of that in my 1.0 LX!

I know it's an old thread, but it's relevant...

What do you do when you have this problem? Just replace the resistor card?
