head replacement

can anyone tell me how much of a mission is it to replace the head off a 1.0 and fit it to a 1.3 what will i need to change? eg manifolds etc does it take a long time? i think this is my best option because ever since going through a big puddle its been making a really loud tapping/ knocking sound. thinking this must be a valve or a tappit? anyone any ideas of how i could sort this problem without losts of effort!!!! the engine still runs and goes fine but this noise cannot be healthy!! thx

I would get someone to have a listen and identify the sound. May not be anything to do with the head. Could be timing chain for example.

yeh i got it checked and the guy reckons could be water in the lifters as they are hydraulic! dunno how hard these are to get at dunno yet if i have to take the cams off totally?
