Gearstick threaded end

What's the thread on the gearstick to hold on the gearknob? Thought was M10 x 1.5 bit seems is a slightly larger (possibly impetrial) thread size.

check with a wheel nut as that's an m12 x 1.5
Wont be imperial because its japanese

They are metric fine, which is why the nut you tried didn't fit.
