Gear selection for a learner

The Micra ( Mable) is for the kids to learn to drive in.
Now whilst we can drive it no problem the gear leaver doesn't spring to the 3 / 4 position as positively as I would like to make it easier for the kids to find the gears , so can this be fixed?

Possibly replace the return spring

My mum always struggles changing into 3rd from 2nd in my micra, i never have a problem... Could just be your driving style? Not saying you drive badly however

I have no problem, I think its fine but its not like a new car so the kids will struggle just want to make it as easy as possible for them,, Daughter needs to pass ASAP as she has to travel for college

It's under the car, between the chassis and the exhaust heat shield
