I will give it a go too this weekend. Mine is sticky too.Hello, thanks to all the useful advive on here I have successfully fixed my neutral spring return.
When I removed the heat shield under the car I found that the spring was intact and in place, so I sprayed some WD40 and Grease around the area and now the gear shift is as smooth as butter and returns completely to neutral!!
Can someone help me find one for sale? I don’t have any on the car and I need one ASAP! does Nissan have any in stock? Thanks
Thanks for the help ? no one around my area got a k11 in!Try a scrapyard.
Lol lucky you! Mine is gone ?If you're lucky it might just be hanging off the end of the gearstick still like mine currently is, or wedged in between the heat shield and the body like it was the last time (mine falls off a lot)
I remember this ? within a week of getting the car this happened and it took me ages to figure out where the metal noise was coming from.
Just bought it from Nissan for 26 pounds ?
I assume that the dealership had big glass doors.....................................they saw you coming!!You just spent £26 on a spring the size of my thumb?!?
Had no choice no one had one lol checked today and someone was selling a pulsar one.. disappointed ?I assume that the dealership had big glass doors.....................................they saw you coming!!
Had to be done! You just spent £26 on a spring the size of my thumb?!?
£26 for a spring? Almost Unbelievable! The price of not doing your due diligence search for some of these multipack galvanised assorted springs at £2 that will do the job just fine.

Yeah when I went underneath there was no spring there it must’ve broke or been misplaced as I’ve put short shifter on itA previous old K11 that I bought 5 five years down the local car auction cheap as chips, the gear lever was floppy not centralising in neutral. I found the springs hanging in position with the other ends snapped off.
As referred to by Polly P above, A simple repair using needle nose pliers to reform duplicate the springs hooked ends and reinstated at zero cost.
My kind of ten minuet DIY easy job!
I'm sure you could get one for 26 cent..... That's ridiculousJust bought it from Nissan for 26 pounds

Preaching to the choir my man. When I first got mine I picked up some caliper bolts from a dealer. £5 eachThat’s the ridiculous Nissan Main Stealers taking the Mick out of its customers whenever they can get away with it?
Well today I’ve just noticed it broke again that’s 30 quid down the drainI'm sure you could get one for 26 cent..... That's ridiculous

After putting the short shifter on nothing seems right lol struggling to find gears sometimes tooThat doesn't sound right. Go back and complain (unless theres something wrong with the car)
The original Spring had a red 'rod' inside the coil to stop it bending.I have the same problem and i cannot find a new one. I am trying to find a similar one. I know that the length is 42mm, but i can't find the width of the spring. Does anybody know the size or just a similar one from ebay?
