fuel filter size, does it really matter?

Hey sorry if this is on the wrong thread, but i have a fuel filter, 0ff ebay, its not the same size as the one in my micra atm, its fair bit bigger as the old one is tiny, but im wondering if it matters if i use the bigger one, as in servicing the car, afer looking on interwebs i have been given 2 anwsers, yes its fine infact a good idea as it wont need changing for longer, and no because i will need more fuel pressure to pump it round, so basically ill end up with low fuel pressure

Im no expert by any strech of the imagineation but dont want to cause more problems than im trying to avoid

I have a x reg micra, facelift and bubble shape, the part in question is for a micra 1993 - 2003 but like i said, not the same and bigger,

it wont affect the pressure, can you post a pic of it ?
