Front wipers just stopped?

Driving home in the rain and the wipers just stopped. The screen wash still works so do the rear wipers. Has this happened to anyone else. I can hear the wiper motor but no wiper movement.
Be really grateful for some info or advice on what the problem could be..

What year is your car and does it have a rain sensor?

Hi its a 2008. not sure about a rain sensor but if you mean auto wipers that go faster on their own then it has them. I have found the fault the linkade has come off the motor but im not sure how the linkage is meant to stay on the motor? I have rabg local car part shops and all say main dealer part possibly need the whole linkage and motor.. The motor works fine though :/

3 screws hold the motor and a nut. Are any missing?

Small linkage bar had popped off it was worn. Ive ordered one on ebay for £11 delivered so hopefully will sort it soon. Thanks for the reply
