Facelift Air-flow Sensor

I know not many people seem to know much about this subject but i thought it would be worth a go!

I know on the old K11's the air flow sensor cannot be removed from the throttlebody, and therefore if it breaks a whole new throttlebody is needed.

Well i was having a look at the throttlebody on my facelift micra and it looks like the air flow sensor could be removed (with the correct specialised tools).

I jus wondered if anyone knew if it actually could be removed, and if so how much would i be looking at getting a new sensor fitted from nissan?? thanks.

I've been thinking about moving the MAF (Mass Air-Flow sesnor) as I want to try dual throttle bodies, So was thinking of trying to get it more into the actual piping of it after the throttle bodies. And while browsing around for info on it, found a site that had a tutorial of how it was removed from a throttle body. Will post it up if I find it again.

you mean the guide on ciscos site?

the only guide i found on there about throttle bodies was the re-soldering one,
i was wondering if there was a way to actually remove the sensor (maf) from the throttle body (for cleaning or cheap replacement) on a facelift k11??

im sure its possible, i think two specialised allan keys are needed tho, might ask nissan...

thanks for the replies tho!

just so you when i had a problem with this nissan would not replace the sensor alone they will change the whole throttle body

thanks, i will probably end up trying to find a decent priced used throttle body and replace the whole lot.

99.9% sure that you cant buy the sensor seperate on any k11 anymore from nissan, thats why you need to buy a throttle body, when you buy one get one brand new or one with a very long warranty
