Extractors and aircon?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and have a base model manual-transmission Micra.

I'm going about redoing a few things and wanted to fit a performance exhaust. In my dealings in the past with vehicles it generally improves a whole host of things; response, sound, power... the lightness of my wallet...

Anyway, the only headers I can find - the Hurricanes - say that they don't fit with aircon. Looking at them I'd believe it, too.

Are there any out there (or does anyone have any) that would fit with stock aircon?

Cheers - boingk

You might be able to get them "adjusted". I don't know what make mine are, but at some stage the manufacture or who ever had them before me has knocked them into shape to fit around the AC and Alternator.

I said that to the guy at the exhaust place that fitted it, he didn't seem to think it would be an issue. I was replacing the standard headers and also having a new O2 sensor installed so the combination was a massive improvement over what I had before anyway.

I'm tempted to remove my aircon so I can get the extractors in.
My aircon doesn't work anyway, so with the aircon out; less weight, less tension on the engine. More grunt :)

I made a small smooth dent (5mm) on the header next to the alternator and used some washers + longer bolts to push out the top alternator bracket about 8-10mm.

I didn't need to make a dent on the other pipe, was easier and better to just bend the A/C line away for more clearance.
