I was just reading thru this post,

https://micra.org.uk/cmf/message/1995#latestand

noticed that mighty said that the exhaust manifold would not fit ac equiped cars unless the manifold was modified. is this the case with all manifolds? for example if i were to get a japanese brand manifold would i have to modify the extractors to fit an ac car? can something be done to the ac instead? sss says that the problem could be solved using a long piece of rubber tube. can anyone confirm this? eg If i spent good money on an impul manifold, the last thing i want to do is change its design by modifying it!

Just buy what you want and have the aircon pipes modified to go around the extractors.

The JDM k11 could have aircon pipes routed differently to the UKDM/AUDM k11 so it is probably fairly possible they wont fit.

A lot of the Japanese ones have the left most runner taking a tighter route because of air con and other clearance issues. Just about every jap k11 has air con and power steer, I wouldn't think that the air con would be all that different to ours or the UK ones, but yeah probably a bit different.

if you go for an impul manifold,u'll be very hardcore....should be atleast $2000 inc shipping and tax,i wouldnt spend that much on a manifold,go for the mulholland or aspect ones, their price is more reasonable, but then mulholland ones has larger piping size "38mm" compare to the aspect ones "35mm",so back to the main point for u,u need to know what power u want to achieve first, where to use and how much approx. u want to spend at the micra in total.

Buy your micra first, feel the limit, then decide how many upgrade u want.

i was speaking to errol the other day, and he said i should focus the most of my money into the head. he even said i should leave the bottom end stock for the na. as they dont really wear. im probably going to take his advice there. crank prep, rods and pistons might make this another money pit.

Agree with Errol. For a NA job focus on breathing both in and out. Focus on the top end, cams and head and I would go internally with a lightweight flywheel.
Internally the motor will be okay as up to around 10psi on forced cars they can take it.

Could you consider a maniflow exhaust from the UK?

Maniflow designed and developed this exhaust system for the NME race cars. They competed against other companys and won the contract. I have one on my car and it really gave it a kick!

To say the exhaust is made to perfection wouldnt be giving them enough credit.

They are expensive tho, about £800 for the whole system. Then you would need to look into shipping etc.

But perhaps just get the manifold and Y pipe?
