thanks frank, thats a bit of bad news. surely the chain is supposed to last the life time of the engine? should they not have recalled all nissans with this fault because its a bit expensive to fix dont you think. also if i get this problem fixed is there a chance it will happen the next few thousand miles again? x

i would say it was a "bad batch" of chains at some time because some k12,s do high miles with no probs, so a new chain should be ok
i think they have to pull the g/box off to drop the sump, hence the big bill !
