Engine Management Light k12 1.2 automatic

The light keeps coming on the micra the Code displayed is
P0705 Park Neutral Switch/Circuit
when the light is not illuminated the code is still pending and the length of time before the loght comes back on seems to vary quite a lot.
I have checked the operation of the PNP switch in live data and all is well.
I have cleaned all the earth points in the engine bay to see if this aided a signaling problem no help.
Does anyone have a test procedure for this code or any info on what to do next?

Was just trawling through all the different switches or signal in live data and found that the lever position does not display D it recognises all other positions such as p/n reverse and 1 and 2. But if you put it in drive the indicator says p/n or 2 dependiong on which way was shifted.
Is there a seperate Drive position switch or is this signal generated from the pnp switch and this is where the fault is generated? cheers
