Engine and coolant temperature

Hi!

I have a problem. At what coolant temperature should the fan start? I am currently over 92 degrees celsius and nothing is happening.

I've been driving this car for 10 years and never checked things like this, but yesterday the car drew some stench into the cabin and I started to panic.

103 to 110 is normal for most cars. It's a pressurised system meaning the water can go above normal boiling point.

Why?

I mean, yer do it, no reason not to, but nothing in the first post suggests there's an issue.

A coolant flush and swap won't do any harm though if it hasn't been done for a while.
