Early & late Automatic's

Hello

At some point in the future we may have to get a 2nd car. Naturally I don't want to get some modern piece of junk I want another K11 . For various reasons we have to have an automatic a manual car isn't an option.
In the light of this & knowing that the later k11 auto's have a different autobox can anyone offer any advice or opinion as to the better option to go for - the earlier ones (we ourselves already have a '98 CVT) or a later type K11 auto?
Also is there any truth in the rumour I heard that the very last type of K11's (with the final facelift from year 2000 on I think) have some Renault parts in so are less reliable than the earlier K11's?

We've had the older model, and have the newer one now, no difference between them imo. Never heard or read about frog bits in the late models. The k12 was the first model to have clio bits in them circa 2003 and on.

Cheers davyboy, that's good to hear. I've always quite fancied getting a K11 1.4 auto.
