Door Lining and Replacement Speakers

First question, do I need the plastic lining in the doors? I'm assuming its waterproofing but do I really need it? It's getting on my nerves as you can hear it vibrating.

Next, I have these speakers at the moment but they are not coping with any bass at all really, so it sounds quite pathetic. If I turn the bass right down and just run the sub, it sounds really off balance and tinny. Also got ripped off by Halfords for them, £40 a pair lol.

Can anyone recommend some good speakers under about £80 that will give some good bass without it sounding like it's blowing a rasberry?

I'm thinking about these Diamonds:

Or these Alpines:

Both would need spacing though. Is that literally just a case of cutting an mdf frame and mounting the speaker on that so it fits in the hole?

Sorry if I've rambled a bit,

Tom

Speaking to one of my mates about this some time ago, he modifies civics, but same princible, the plastic lining helps keep the draft, the cold and damp out of the car and off the back of the door cards (since them being wood, will get moldy other wise)

If it is loose, use strong duct tape to secure it back into place
