distinguish between 1.0 and 1.3

hello guys,

New to the forum, I have recently got my self a nice little k11, its my first micra, or even my first ever Nissan, and im pretty happy with it. I have a question though regarding engines, is there a way to distinguish between 1.0 and 1.3 engines from the looks? if not, how do they differ otherwise?

appreciate any help.

The code on the engine block tells you but if that wasnt there without opening up the engine i cant think of a way to tell which is which as they are exactly same apart from some internals

Oh and the code is to the right of the exhaust manifold and down a bit. Hard to see if your not sure where to look cg10 means 1.0ltr and cg13 means 1.3

There pretty much identical. Only difference is the inside of the engine itself and the gearbox.

You can read the side of the engine block to see the Engine code and will show if its a 1.0 or a 1.3

Thanks for the reply, I'm doing sum cleaning to the engine bay today, ill check to see if I can spot the number on the engine block.
