hi all, just wondering if there were any differences between the aussie delivered cg13 and the japanese spec cg13? other than the obvious black rocker cover. waht about engine management? is that different too? what should i pick a used engine up for? i just got a quote of 750 for a jap spec engine. no gearbox. is that dear?

they're the same besides a black rocker cover and yeah..i bought mine for 500 bucks.

Black cover jap sec engines have more of an open deck block design, UK/aussie chrome engines have a solid deck block.
Black ones would be better for cooling, chrome ones would be stronger if pushed to absolute limits (i.e. massive boost etc).

Yeah mine was about $600 delivered to Canberra from Sydney.

I think engine management is different as they can guarantee a high octane level?

There are also a few other difference around the body, Some have smaller driveshafts, different brakes etc.
