CVT expert needed

I have had a nightmare this week with my Auto box .

I was having major problems with selecting gears on the car and put it down to the badly worn engine mountings , two days ago the passenger side mounting tore away and rendered the car unmovable ( wont select gear ) .

So I have replaced both front engine mountings with new ones but the problem is still there .
I can select drive and drive sport with no engine running but not reverse or park , with the engine running I cant select any gear .

I have disconnected the gear cable and all is free , the selector mechanism on top of the gearbox will move into forward gears but not into reverse with the selector cable disconected .


Any ideas , I am getting seriously pissed off with this now because it has cost me a bloody fortune lately


Discs and pads = £ 60

CV Boots = £ 30

Exhaust front pipe and centre bracket = £ 104

Two engine mountings = £ 128

All in the last two weeks

My fitter has always told me that when these boxes are gone, that's it, un-repairable. Sorry !

I can now as well, got my hearing aids last week, never knew the world was so noisy
