right well i put my shiney new standard brakes on and found that my left cv gator was split. so will i need to replace the whole joint if thats what you do, or just replace the gator?

You only n4eed to change the whole CV joint if it is worn. The best way to test this is drive the car in full lock. If it knocks repeatedly you know the joint is worn.

It all depends on how long the cv boot has been leaking whether the CV joint will be worn. Micra ones don't last very long if the boot is burst.

youll probably be aswell replacing the whole joint, i think i got 2 for £40 off ebay and there perfect!
