Corsa shocks suitable for un-lowered Micra?

Hi all,

I gather that some fit Corsa rear shocks to their Micras for lowering.
However, from the limited info I can find, the Corsa shocks are apparently longer by 60mm.
So it seems from first glance, that it wont be too short.

If I kept the standard rear springs, would the Corsa shocks be a suitable replacement as-is? (Plus suitable 10mm bolts).

Simply because the Micra shocks are virtually twice the price of the Corsa part!

The corsa shocks don't lower it the springs do. The corsa b shocks are shorter so the springs stay captive and safe.

Yes, I know the springs do, but as you mention, the shocks play a roll where people have been lowering.

How much shorter - would they still be ok?
As i said, the info I found was likely contrary, but I wanted to know from people, like yourself, that have actually used them

Autobiscuit I'll be doing this swap over the weekend I'll let you know the difference I hope height. My springs have a coil and a half off but I'll compare length of stock shocks to corsa b ones

Likewise - I have ordered a set to at least compare. At very worse, I can return them.

Typically, all the dimensions I can find list the Micra and Corsa B/C shocks with random heights.
I found a pic on this forum via google images to show the Corsa item is shorter as assumed.

I'm mainly concerned with comparative dampening and extended travel from speed bumps - but in practice, the missus wont be stunt driving in a 'dukes of hazard' remake anytime soon.

Its mainly for an alternative to the Micra part cost.
But theres a catch somewhere, hence this post...

Fronts get Micra parts though.

Yes, a trim and a ream (or smaller bolt) on eyelet.
Shaft end is 'as-is'.

They need the sides grinding down to the rubber bushings, so they fit in the slot on the axle...

First look - they are a bit short - the car sitting stock will likely pull the cross shocks to the end.

So, it's either return them, or use stand-offs...
