Cone or Mushroom?

I understand there is 2 types of k &n induction kit available for the micra. A cone shaped kit, or a mushroom shaped kit. Is one for the face lifted K11 and one not?? Im interested in the cone shaped one for my 97 SR

both will fit either as far as i know cos its the same motor and diffrences in the grill etc, im running an hks 200mm mushroom on mine atm

I done a wee bit of research and the mushroom filter is for the pre-facelift model and the cone for the newer k11. Do you think they found out a cone design would be better as it is the same engine?

Don't get the cone one! The K&N one I had fitted to mine was slightly too tall for the engine bay, therefore whenever I closed the bonnet it was putting pressure on which eventually caused the rubber sleeve underneath to fracture.

When I put my car into K&N in Warrington for some testing, they fitted it with a cylindrical one. You'll need an "L" piece for your oil breather pipe (unless you just get a seperate oil breather filter).
