The standard Micra airbox and intake is a bit restrictive and tame sounding.
As I intend thrashing this car to death at Knockhill and Crail hot hatch days I thought I should have a decent cold air feed.
So, inspired by the DTM German super tourers I had a rake about the workshop. This uncovered loads of aluminium intercooler piping, some heat reflecting tape and an HKS mushroom air filter left over from a Mitsubishi FTO.
Most direct route from the cold air at the front into the throttle body! Tape helps keep air cool
Moved the horn!
Tried to avoid too many sharp angles.
You can cut quite a lot of the bumper away without losing its shape.
Placed in a high pressure area to cause a 'Ram air' effect!
Re routed the rear washer jet too! LOL!
As you can see from the pictures, the Super S bumpers are gone. I prefer the simple bog standard, ready salted bumpers. When I charge it into a tyre wall they will be cheaper to replace too!
