Hi - first post....
We have a 52 plate K11 1.0 that has had clutch problems for the last couple of weeks. It broke down and was recovered "needing a new clutch cable". This was done by a local "clutch specialist" but gear selection afterwards was stiff. I adjusted the cable a couple of times but seemed to be balancing between getting the clutch slipping and dragging.
This week my daughter (it's her car) had had enough and the car was returned to the "specialist" for another look. They replaced the clutch and the cable and found that overnight the pedal went "spongy". They changed the clutch and cable again and returned the car to our home saying that I needed to contact them for a refund and that the pedal was stiff.
I was away for the weekend so my daughter took the car to see if it was OK and really struggled to get the pedal down. She rang saying it was very stiff to push down, so I asked her to try and drive it and see if it got better. She rang back a couple of mins later crying saying that she'd nearly driven the car through the garage door!
The pedal had stuck to the floor and, whilst she was in first, she hooked the pedal back up and the car, of course, shot forwards.
I have had a look and the pedal sticks to the floor when pushed down. It makes a grating noise when the pedal is pushed down; from the cable/clutch with the engine off. The pedal returns up if hooked up but stays down when depressed.
Any ideas? The car only needs to last another month as her new one is being delivered but being without wheels is going to be a pain.
I have lubed where the clutch actuating arm enters the housing but this makes no difference...
Thanks in advance
