clutch change shortcuts

I read a post Frank made about being able to get the gearbox off of a k11 without having to remove driveshafts etc.

I have removed gearbox bolts, the startermotor, rear and passenger side gearbox mounts and two bolts from the rear mount braket. The geabox doesnt seem to want to come off, its off by around 1cm, the studs have cleared their holes. Do I need to disconnect the gear linkage & support bar to get the gearbox off? I thought I'd get away with leaving them alone. Any advice?

just the gear linkage will do fine, at the back engine mount theres 3 bolts by the way and taking out the driveshafts only takes about 30 mins

Yer but then u get covered in gearbox oil!

how about you get a bucket and take out the nut for draining gearboxes wheels and brakes off, driveshafts out and bobs your uncle :upside:
