clock display "L" after bulb replacement - help!

Had a nightmare replacing a bulb in my dash. Bulb came loose and fell through the hole and inside the instrument cluster! Had to take the screws off to get into the loose bulb, which meant slightly pulling back the PCB. Now clock won't display mileage or time. Now just an L on the display. Have I knackered the instrument panel? Car starts etc, all lights working now. Please advise, ta.

just go back...bit of patience...and see if anything loose...inside, contacts loose...etc

Just to add - instrument cluster from a 2000 reg, which according to the haynes manual, is not supposed to be opened.
