Cleaning the engine during oil change

I'm soon to be doing an oil change on my micra, and on a recent check of the dipstick, the oil is fairly black, so I imagine the inside of my engine looks the same, so I guess a quick flush may help it.

I've heard putting transmission fluid in with the oil can rinse clean an engine after 3k miles, anyone know how true this is?

never heard of that. just use engine flush if you think its so dirty,

rub it on good clean deiasl oil thats the best cleaner

id also recommend engine flush too, when i did it with the celica and topped up the oil, i could barely tell on the dipstick whether i had enough in or not it was so clear!
