changing a bootlid?

yer you should be fine, you will need another person to help lift and support etc. Only something like 4 bolts, release the lifters and dissconnect wiring harness iirc.

right hard to explain but the wiring for the wiper and 3rd bralke light goes in a whole into the roof? how do i get to that?

I think you have to unplug it by the drivers side rear light and pull it out, thats how it was on the k10 iirc, not done a k11 though. Don't forget about the washer feed aswell.
