central locking not working

the central locking on my k11 1.3 gx has suddenly stopped working, my first though was to check to see if a fuse had blown, but I couldnt find a central locking fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet or the other box just down to the side of the steering wheel (does it have one?). Also when I open the doors/turn the ignition off the interior light doesn't come on either, but when i flick the switch to the 'permanently on' position, the light still works.

Are these problems related? if yo uhave any suggestions of what else I could check then id be very grateful.

Perhaps check the wires in the door jam.......check for splits e.c.t

I thought about that but the central locking and light doesn't work from the passenger side front door either, from what Ive read on here it sounds like it could be the central locking control unit under the steering wheel. Does anyone know if the key is programmed to this unit?
