CD Player Settings Help

Hi, I have a problem with my CD player. It is a sony CDX-S2200 which i bought from a mate and he didn't have the manual.

anyway, the volume is preset to 28 and everytime i switch the engine on it comes on at 28. also when i turn the volume up it jumps up to 24 everytime, so to knock it up by 1 i have to turn it up and back down again.

Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to sort it?

Might be able to find out what menu the volume setting is hiding under.
