there is a buzzin noise from my amp when im driving is it because i have my wire that goes to the battery to close to the leads to the back of the stereo.

I have found that it is best to run the phono cables down one side of the car (assuming your amp is in the boot) and the power cable down the other side.

Is the buzzing coming from the amp itself, or the speakers? What make/model is the amp? Does the buzzing change in speed/frequency when you accelerate?

yeah you can tell when i change gear and when i put my foot on accelerator

id say get a surpressor for the amp... £3.00ish from maplins iirc...
its a sort of whining noise and as you accelerate it gets more intense till you change gear than repeats for that gear...

annoying...

ive got this problem too i run power wire down one side n rca's round other got two amps both grounded via same wire hu is grounded (even a set of rca's is grounded too) also its not the suppressor in the alternator cuz i swapped mine with my cousins n same thing still there i had gone maplins n got the ground isolation loop didnt work n even the alternator supressor but none worked if u solve problem with this let me know

You're earthing the amps through the same earth as the headunit.............

:wow:o_O

Make sure you don't have any cables coiled up. And also use different earths for everything. Try that.

Have you scratched away the paint properly?

its not a good idea to put a suppressor to dull down the noise. its best to find out what is causing it and eliminate it properly
