Buyers guide

Hello people. Just wondered if there was a buyers guide on this site to buying a second hand k12 micra. Going to have a look at a couple tomorrow for the girlfriend (a 1.4sx and 1.4 se), and just wondered what sort of things, other than the basics, I need to be aware of (don't have much of an idea as more of a VW man myself). Are these models prone to any particular faults.

Also, I read of a few problems some of you have had with the timing chains. As the SX is on an 04 plate (77,000miles) and the SE is on a 55 (64,00 miles), is this a problem which could rear it's ugly head in the future?

have you checked out guy,s k12 site iain ? and yes, on the 1.0/1.2/1.4 chains

Hi Frank, had a look on that site, no buyers guide though. Am getting the mrs to ring the dealers today to get them to check on whether the chains have been replaced yet. Imagine it would cost around 300 quid to get it replaced. Spotted the ads that guy linked to on ebay, unfortunately we are in the wrong part of the country to use his services!
