Brake Warning Light

Hi all.

my brake warning light didnt go off this morning when i fired the car up, it wasnt on last might on my way home from work.

theres plenty of brake fluid in it, and ive pulled the handbrake on and off and banged it etc, the connector on the brake master cylinder is ok, ive checked the connections.

what else brings the light on? ive not got the haynes to hand as its at home.

i seem to remember a similar thread not too long ago, but the search on here is still pants and i couldnt find it.

just the 2 causes you mentioned scott, have you tried holding up the switch in the M/C cap ? (and i think the M/C needs to be well above the max)

cheers frank ill try that later, i didnt really have time this morning i was 10 mins late at it was, lol, the fluid in the M/C is half way between min and max, ill fill it up and see if it makes any differance, i know the drivers rear wheel cylinder is leaking, so i know where the fluid is going, i just thought it wasnt that low. cheers for the tips tho.
