Brake pads and disc change

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to retract the front caliper pistons on a K11? I've changed pads before but wanted to know if these require a special piston rewind tool or if you can just use your hands to push it back in? does it need twisting back?

Also, are the discs bolted in anyway or are they just held in place by the caliper?

I personally just push the pistons back by hand, putting a 6" piece of 2x1 timber across the piston. The disc comes straight off once the caliper is removed

If you take the cap of the reservoir for the brake fluid makes it easier to push back the piston... or is that something I have made up in my head???

OK brilliant, and they don't need twisting at all, they just push straight back in ?

no rewind tool needed, and its just the wheelnuts that hold the disc
