Battery dead & Passenger side entry broken

Hi Everyone, I'm in a bit of trouble hoping someone can help.

My battery is dead and the passenger side entry lock is broken... And by broken I mean, the whole thing has come out...

Obviously I didn't mean to pull the whole thing out, just the cap, but the whole thing came out so easily I suspect it wasn't attached to anything inside.

Any advice? Is there anyway to access open the bonnet or do I have to call a locksmith or break a window :/

If you have a feel around ( use a piece of wire or an extending magnet) in the aperture you should come across a bar that should be attached to the pink actuator arm shown in you picture pull on this as this links to the locking mechanism.
