banging when moving gear stick

yesterday i changes a flat tyre and now when im changing gears the stick bangs from underneath the car it sounds like metal hitting off metal any ideas what this could be and how easy it is to correct as i would like to do it myself if possible it was the front drivers side wheel i changed if that helps any but i cant understand how that could affect the gears it drives ok still but bangs alot when the gear stick is moved about

There is a spring that can snap on the selecter, I had similar issue on mines, but the experts will probably give you a better answer ahhah

Thanks Danny is it an easy fix as I need the car weekend and don't wanna risk driving incase I cause any damage

Yeah, well presuming that's the fault, it's just above the heat sheild right below the gear stick, but you can only get to it from underneath

I'll have a look tomoz had a bit of a read and sounds like it should be an easy fix just hope it is that cheers for the help much appreciated
