ball joint??? or maybe somthing else...u tell me?

wen driving my car it feels like i have a half inflated tyre but i check my pressures regurly and they arnt flat!

i got told that to tell if my ball joint has gone it will vibrate wen i brake?

also wen i am turn just alittle corner or dodging parked cars on the road i am turning my steering wheel nearly double wat i shuld to turn the wheels???

anyone got any ideas wat this problme maybe or am i just going mad,lol.

Hi mate has ur car got power steering? EDIT- Its just that if it does have power steering...check the fluid level...mt bros van did this when his were low

no i dnt have power steering as myne is just a 1994 tropic!

It could be a ball joint or a track rod end or wheel bearing, it could even be a worn rack.

wont vibrate if ball joint gone!Strange just diagnosed this on my freinds micra last night! Same stymptons and it was the ball joint, lil diagnosis with vehicle stationery turn steering wheel gently side to side to feel if you have anyplay. post what you found!

another way is to jack the car up so that 1 of the front wheels is a couple of inches off the ground then shake it left and right then up and down, you will feel if there is any movement in the joints.

up-down = bottom balljoint
left-right = trackrod end

then spin the wheel, fast. If it rumbles the bearing is goosed

check both sides like this and you will find your problem.

i jacked the car up and is neither track rod or ball joint.

i will have a go at spinning it though,,,cheers.

Check the steering rack bushings. They could be flogged out.
