Looking for some help please. I have a 2003 Automatic that is giving me trouble. The shifter has all of a sudden become stuck in Park. The button on the side of the shifter does not depress.
I can use the little unlock button to take it out of park, the problem then is that the gear shifter seems to be out of sync with the dash display. i.e. The shifter will be in 1 but the dash / gearbox is actually in D. Neutral on the shifter results in reverse.
Occasionally the car will get stuck in neutral (not while driving) and you have to cycle the shifter a few times to find a gear.
The car is driving fine when in gear.
Any thoughts ?
