i have one on the super s, were on them as standard iirc.
dunno haven't looked but i would assume that all micras with boot lights were the same.
thnx. i wanted to know if its a similar switch like the interior light door switches or is it a separate connection or joint?
little help anyone please?
allright lol is the switch on the tailgate? like a interior light door switch? because mines not working because my tail gate has been changed by previous keeper.
The boot light switch is incorporated in the boot catch fitted in the tailgate. It is a small piece of metal which is moved when the boot is closed, breaking the circuit and switching off the light.
When the boot is opened the metal moves back into place by a spring mechanism and the circuit is completed making the light come on.
The boot catch mechanism has two wires on it with a connector, accessed by removing the rear panel on the tailgate. This connector joins to the wiring for the bootlight which is already in the tailgate.
N.B. The wiring for a boot light should already be in the "non-boot light tailgate", as it was for me when i wanted to install one into my 1.0 L model, I just needed the boot catch with switch on, and the short piece of wire joined onto it up to the connector.
Hope that helps!
